Before Mary Moore started Aloha Pet Sitting and Dog Walking she worked as an OPS Park Ranger for Anastasia State Park, St. Augustine, FL.  While a ranger, Mary helped rescue endangered wildlife including baby loggerhead sea turtles, a baby tortoise, and wild water birds. She has also helped protect eastern terns’ nests along the beach coast. During the rescue and protection parts of her former job, Mary’s love for animals deepened and became a major motivation for her to become a pet sitter. She recounts, “I grew up caring for the family’s pack of four dogs, as well as an African frog. I have also helped care for a love bird, kitten, ferret, and snake in my younger years. I have always enjoyed being in nature and around animals.”

Matt Moore has been around critters for as long as he can remember. “My family has always had pets. Along with having pets came the responsibilities of feeding, watering, walking, spending time with the pets, washing them, and cleaning up after them. My brothers and I had fish, a ferret, mice, gerbils, hamsters, a guinea pig,  rabbits, snakes, and a dozen or two chickens. I, being the youngest boy, fed, took care of, and collected the eggs. Numerous times growing up, we found small birds, baby squirrels, and the occasional wild critter-cub that either fell from their nest, or got lost that we nursed back to health and raised until they were able to take care of themselves and be released back into the wild. I love animals.”  Matt’s work experience has spanned youth ministry, construction, teaching, lawn-care, landscaping and more. He loves to spend his spare time with Mary, hiking outdoors, biking, boating or at the beach with a surf-board and fishing pole. Currently, Matt owns and operates Aloha Landscaping and Lawn Care.
